On this piece

This is the very first sky I ever painted in acrylic, and I put my whole heart into it to capture a sky that carries nostalgia - the kind that surfaces in your memory when you think of a place that's close to your heart.

For me, this sunset says that a scene can become a memory - one that lives on in your heart forever, even after time has passed and you've changed. When my buyer saw it, he told me it reminded him of his family. The mountain is life's struggle to keep growing, its shadowed side holds the weight of the hard days, and the sunset above is life's ultimate goal: to simply be present, and to enjoy life just as it is - because life is beautiful.
